At Cleo, we value your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Cleo app and website.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Data

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we collect your email address and display name to identify your account.

App Data

We store your tasks, categories, and inventory items on our servers to synchronize them across your devices.

AI Interactions

When you chat with Cleo, your message history and relevant task/inventory context are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate responses. We do not store AI conversation data beyond your current session unless you explicitly save it.

2. How We Use Information

To provide and maintain the Cleo organization services
To personalize your experience and AI recommendations
To sync data between your devices
To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

3. Advertising & Google AdMob

Cleo displays ads to non-premium users through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use the following data to serve and measure ads:

Device identifiers — advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
Device information — model, OS version, screen size, language
Ad interaction data — impressions, clicks, and engagement
Approximate location — based on IP address (not precise GPS)

This data is used to deliver relevant ads and measure ad performance. Cleo does not share your personal account data (name, email, tasks, inventory) with ad networks.

Opting Out of Personalized Ads

iOS: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track." You can also enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising.
Android: Go to Settings → Privacy → Ads, and select "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization."

Opting out will not reduce the number of ads you see, but they will be less targeted to your interests.

4. Data Storage & Security

We use Railway.app and secure PostgreSQL databases to store your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — Authentication only. We receive your name and email.
Google Gemini AI — Processes your chat messages to provide AI responses. Subject to Google's AI terms.
Google AdMob — Displays ads for non-premium users (see Section 3 above).
RevenueCat — Manages premium subscriptions. Processes purchase data through your device's app store.

6. Children's Privacy

Cleo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of personalized advertising
Export your data in a portable format

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Cleo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
